Terry and Karon were on the founding board of Bridge Builders International, an ambitious ministry connecting churches and Christian businessmen with like bodies in Eastern Europe, with a special emphasis on Latvia. Bridge Builders has been involved in Latvia-wide evangelical crusades and has worked with Luis Palau in organizing his international crusade. The organization has also been instrumental in bridging individual American churches with churches in Latvia, training and assisting in leadership, program development, etc. It also has given assistance and expertise in developing radio ministries, agricultural improvement, youth programs, and pastoral training (including opening a Latvia branch of Western Seminary). The president of Latvia has even visited the United States in part because of his contact and cooperation with BBI's executive director. Karon was the first Treasurer of BBI and Terry the first Chairman of the Board, both serving about four and a half years until 1998.
