Nature of Work:
Sam serves as a board member and treasurer of Evergreen Friendship Services in Colorado Springs, Colo. Evergreen provides training for village doctors in Shanzi Province, holds seminars for medical specialists, conducts English language training, and consults with the Chinese government in negotiation with Western companies. Sam also serves as a board member and occasional consultant for Sword Productions, which produces Christian films in a number of languages for use by various missions organizations reaching ethnic groups in Asia.

Explanation for Involvement:
Sam is involved with Evergreen because of the very effective and unique way it has been accepted by both the government and church in China, as well as the way it has been able to strengthen the church and individual Christians. He became involved in Sword Productions because of the lack of visual Christian materials produced to reach those difficult ethnic groups.
