French Program

George Fox offers students the opportunity to study abroad and minor in French. After completing French 302, through Grace College students enroll in the Study Abroad Program in Paris or Dijon.

Sylvette Norré

Professor of French

A native speaker of French, Sylvette was born and raised in Bruxelles, Belgium. She attended
L'Université Catholique de Louvain, Louvain, Belgium, and graduated cum laude with a Licence
en Sociologie and an Agrégation en Sciences Sociales. Her Thesis, "Etudes des pratiques de
consommation du Théâtre à Bruxelles," was inspired by her interest in theatre. Sylvette also holds a master of arts in teaching from the University of Utah. Sylvette headed
French language and culture teaching projects in Brussels prior to teaching in the United States.

Sylvette started teaching at George Fox University in 2000. She travels extensively in Europe,
where she returns yearly. She is interested in contemporary Francophone writers worldwide.
