  • In July of 2005, she traveled to Miacatlan, Morelos, Mexico and spent a year serving in an orphanage.
Julianna Guy
  • "I believe my Spanish skills definitely make me more marketable in the field of education." mentioned Guy.
  • Guy is currently employed as an educational assistant with ELL (English language learner) students.
  • While employed by the district, she has translated newsletter materials into Spanish, called parents (in Spanish) concerning homework and conferences, translated at conferences, she mentions, "When working with newcomers, it is definitely an advantage to know their native tongue."

  • Second-grade bilingual teacher in Woodburn, Ore.
  • Received her M.A.T. from George Fox University and now teaches nearly 70 percent of her class in Spanish. Has taken many mission trips to Central America as a translator.

  • Serving with Wycliffe Bible Translators in Papua, New Guinea as a language surveyor.
  • She has traveled extensively in South America recruiting potential translators, and has used Spanish both in her recruiting and with the Hispanic members of her language survey team.

Cari Hogan
  • Christian education director for the Salvation Army headquarters in Portland.
  • Received her M.A. from Biola University in intercultural studies. Went on to live a year and a half in the Dominican Republic as the regional youth director of the Salvation Army.
