Prerequisites & Criteria for Admission

Admission Requirements

  • ALL STUDENTS MUST APPLY TO THE NURSING MAJOR.
  • 40 students are admitted each SPRING SEMESTER (January).
  • Admission to the nursing major is very competitive, and meeting the admission criteria does not assure acceptance into the program.

Transfer Students

  • Priority for admission into the nursing major will be given to George Fox students already in the system. A George Fox student has attended for at least one year (two semesters) prior to submitting an application to the nursing major.
  • It is strongly urged that you contact a nursing department advisor prior to application. Contact Elaine Smith to set up an appointment with an advisor.
  • One must be admitted to George Fox University BEFORE applying to the nursing major. Please apply to the university at least one month prior to applying to the nursing department to assure ample processing time. This process is completely separate from the nursing application and should be treated as such. Contact the Admissions Office for more information.
  • ALL prerequisite transfer classes MUST be accepted by the university BEFORE applying to the nursing program.
  • $50.00 non-refundable application fee. Make check or money order payable to: GFU-Department of Nursing. NOTE: This is in addition to the university application fee.
  • Must submit a copy of all transcripts of courses completed at colleges other than George Fox University.
