1. Psi Chi Member List
1.1 Ronecca and Mandi need a list of all people who are GFU members of Psi Chi so they can e-mail them updates and announcements.
1.2 They requested that Chris send a list of Psi Chi members to them over e-mail.
2. Fundraiser
2.1 We will be selling Portland area entertainment books to raise money for our chapter.
2.2 Each entertainment book will be sold for $35.
2.3 Our goal is to have all Psi Chi members sell at least one entertainment book.
2.4 Part of the money we raise will go to Northwest Medical Teams.
2.5 Once we get the Psi Chi general fund to have more money in it we will resume our tradition of helping members have the money to be able to go to conferences.
3. Psychology Recruitment
3.1 There are many senior psychology majors who are graduating this year and the program needs to recruit some more majors.
3.2 Chris Koch proposed an idea that we use bookmarks to "advertise" the psychology major by including an info. bookmark in each psychology book (especially general psychology) for the next semester. These bookmarks would include the names of Psychology club and Psi Chi officers and all events that are planned for that semester.
3.3 We can also hand these bookmarks out this semester in general psychology classes.
3.4 Joe will make this bookmark during his workstudy time.
3.5 Chris Waters, Mandi, Travis, and Josh will hand out the bookmarks when they go around to psychology classes to advertise our first event.
4. Kickoff Event - Psychology Ice Cream Social
4.1 Thursday, October 2, 2003 at 8:30 pm - Location TBA
4.2 We will invite all the people who signed up during "Get Involved Day" who were interested in psychology.
4.3 The plan for the evening is to eat ice cream, play games, and discuss the psychological relevance of Saturday Night Live sketches.
4.4 A follow-up event (Pizza party) will be planned for later in the semester at Sue O'Donnell's home. Travis will talk with Sue about a good date to have the pizza party.
5. Community Service Event
5.1 We would like to plan a community service event for all Psi Chi members.
5.2 We would like to serve at an organization that deals with psychology or social service in some way.
5.3 Lee will check with his wife to see what help they need at the transitional home she manages.
6. Fall Induction Ceremony
6.1 Thursday, December 4, 2003
6.2 Research Methods class will give their presentations.
6.3 If anybody else wants to present their research they may do so in a research poster, which will be displayed.
6.4 All qualified people who missed the ceremony last spring can be officially inducted.
