Program Admission Procedures

Admission to the Social Work Program



  • Must complete formal application to the program by January 30th of the sophomore year
  • The social work major requires a minimum of five semesters
  • The social work faculty is ready to assist students in considering social work as their major
  • Admission Criteria


    Every student must meet the following minimum criteria to apply to the social work program:
    1. Living in compliance with the university expectations and responsibilities (found in the university Student Handbook).
    2. Have an overall GPA of at least 2.0 or above.
    3. The student must complete the following prerequisite courses: PSYC 150, SOCI 150, and SWRK 180. The GPA for these three courses must be at least 2.7.
