The GFU Social Work Program will have a site visit from CSWE for accreditation reaffirmation on Jan. 25-26.

Please meet our part-time instructors for the fall term.

  • Rhonda Andrews, MSW - Rhonda will teach the Social Work with Children course.  Rhonda has a background in child welfare, adoptions, and is currently working in private practice as a child therapist. 
  • Erin Johnson, MSW - Erin will teach the Diversity in Social Work and SWRK 180 Introcuction to Social Welfare course.  She comes from a background in family therapy and has worked with homeless populations and adults with mental health needs.  Erin is also a greduate of the GFU undergraduate social work program. 
  • Debra Penkin, MSW - We have been fortunate to have Deb teaching for our program for the past five years.  She comes from a background of teaching social work at Roberts Wesleyan.  Deb will teach two courses at GFU this term and also works in adoptions. 
  • Susan Bos, MSW - Susan has been assisting the Field Education Program, serving as an MSW supervisor.  She has a background in adoptions and residence life.

International Field Placements - The GFU social work program collaborates with the Bolivia Overseas program to provide an international field placement. There is also opportunity for an internship in Seville, Spain and South Africa.  Students wishing to travel on any school international program must begin their social work course sequence as a sophomore.

The social work program faculty completed a feasibility study to determine the need and interest in a masters in social work program. The proposal has been forwarded to administration.
