What do you do at Fox?
I teach the following classes: ARTS 285 Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop, ARTS 360 Illustration, ARTS 383 History of Visual Communications, ARTS 450 Design Applications, and ARTS 485 Portfolio Building. In the past, I have taught ARTS 250 Introduction to Graphic Design.
How long have you been at Fox?
Since fall of 2006.
Education/Experience:
B.S. in Fine & Applied Arts, University of Oregon. Art director in Chicago from 1974 to 1979. Freelance in Portland from 1979 to present.
What is something you’d like to do in the future?
I’d like to bicycle across Europe, maybe starting somewhere in the Alps and riding downhill rather than starting in the Netherlands and ending up near the Matterhorn.
What is something you’re grateful for, appreciate, encouraged by, or excited about?
I absolutely love teaching at Fox! There is a great amount of synergy in the classrooms and labs.
Personal notes:
I married my college sweetheart in 1973. We have four adult children (two of whom were adopted from Guatemala) and two foster children. We live in Portland.
What kind of art do you do?
Technical illustration (both traditional and digital), graphite fine art, graphic design, some animation, and calligraphy.
