William Jolliff (Ph.D., The Ohio State University) has a range of interests including 19th-Century American literature, Appalachian literature, and contemporary American poetry. His poetry and criticism have been published in a variety of respected literary magazines and journals. When not reading and writing, he enjoys playing a variety of Appalachian folk instruments, including the five string banjo.

Kathleen Heininge's (Ph.D., University of California at Davis) main interests are Irish literature, especially drama, British modernism, postcolonial and comic theories, and Stephen King. She stays busy outside the classroom with her husband, two adult-ish children, four cats, and a dog. She loves to sing and to garden.

Ed Higgins (Ph.D., Union Institute) is a poet, fiction writer, and essayist with a wide range of writing publications. He also is a part-time farmer who draws much of his writing inspiration from his back-to-the-land experiences. His teaching specialties include fiction writing, science fiction, the contemporary novel, and values issues in literature.

Melanie Springer Mock (Ph.D., Oklahoma State University) is in the middle of her fifth year as a full-time faculty member at George Fox University. She is also the director of the university's writing center. Her book, on the diaries of Mennonite Conscientious Objectors written during World War I, was published in 2003 by Cascadia Press. Melanie's scholarly interests include nonfiction writing, composition and rhetoric, and autobiography. Her other-worldly interests range from running and soccer to spending time with her husband and her sons, Benjamin and Samuel.

Sherie Sherrill (B.A., Seattle Pacific University; Graduate work at the University of Oregon) began and directs the George Fox Reading/Writing Lab to assist underprepared freshmen in developing collegiate-level skills. Since 1993, she has also been the faculty resource person for learning-disabled students. Outside of classroom, her enthusiasm is the study (plus buying and selling) of Victorian-era antiques
