Graduate Department of Clinical Psychology

Admissions Requirements:

  • Complete a bachelor's degree at an accredited institution with a grade point average of at least 3.0 for the most recent 60 semester hours of graded work.
  • Complete at least 18 semester hours in psychology. Recommended course work includes the following: Introductory Psychology, Psychological Statistics or Research Methods, Personality Theory, Human Development, Abnormal Psychology, Psychological Tests and Measurements, and Social Psychology.
  • Submit the Doctor of Clinical Psychology application. Applications may be submitted online, or you may contact the Office of Graduate Admissions to have an application packet mailed to you.
  • Submit four recommendations (required forms provided in application packet or available online).
  • Provide one official transcript from each college or university attended.
  • The GRE is available online. The PGRE (Psychology Subject Test) also available through the GRE website. You are highly encouraged to sign up and take these tests as soon as possible. For sign-up information, please see the GRE website: www.gre.org. All scores will be considered by the Admission Committee, along with scholastic grades, recommendations, and admission statements.
  • Submit a written statement following the form provided in the application packet. This must cover areas of personal faith and growth, academic development, vocational and Christian service objectives, and previous experience.
  • Interview with the PsyD Admissions Committee
  • Pay the $40 nonrefundable application fee

Students admitted to the GDCP describe themselves as Christians and agree to abide by the community life-style expectations during enrollment in the program.

  • If accepted, a $500 tuition deposit is required.

  • Application materials become the property of George Fox University and are not returned or transferred to another institution.
  • Meeting minimum entrance requirements of a given program does not guarantee admission.
  • Admission may be granted to applicants who do not meet all admission requirements at the minimal level if other indicators suggest probable success in the program.
