Take Honors

Think about taking honors, Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate or college courses to complete your class schedule during your junior and senior years. These classes will show college admissions officers that you're willing to take some risks to improve your overall education. And some of those courses could count for college credit.

Keep Grades Up

Your cumulative grade point average (GPA) will help you earn academic scholarships. What you do now matters.

Narrow College Options

Start narrowing down your college options. There are thousands of colleges nationwide from which to choose. Try to narrow down your choices to about five or ten. Think about these factors:

  • Size
  • Region
  • Academics
  • Extracurricular
    opportunities
  • Culture/setting
  • Type of school
  • Athletics
