Assistant Professor of Management

Mary has more than 20 years of experience in higher education administration and teaching. Before joining the George Fox faculty, she was affiliated with Pacific Lutheran University, Oregon Institute of Technology, Boise State University, and the University of Idaho's Boise Center.

Mary holds a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in social sciences with a specialization in psychological counseling from Pacific Lutheran University. She earned a PhD with a major in adult education from the University of Idaho, Boise Center, in 1995.

Mary is a teacher at heart. Her professional passion is working and connecting with her students. Mary's favorite class to teach is Leadership and Human Development (the first class in the MAOL and MBA curriculums). It serves as a forum for students to bond as a team as they begin their journey as a cohort. To that end, the course includes a trip to McCall, Idaho, where students and faculty take part in a ropes course adventure that leads to team building and personal development.

One of Mary's greatest joys in life is running. Almost every day of the year, she can be found running the trails in the Boise foothills. She ran her first marathon in 1984 and since then has enjoyed traveling to different parts of the country to participate in running events. Her all-time favorite marathons include: the Boston Marathon, the New York City Marathon, the Chicago Marathon, and the Honolulu Marathon.

Mary lives in Boise with her husband, David, and their sons Scott (19), Daniel (15), and Benjamin (11).
