Distinctives: Adult Degree Programs
Excellent Faculty
The
faculty at George Fox have both academic and professional expertise. They respect the knowledge and experience that you bring to the classroom and will work with you to help you succeed in the program.
Adult-Focused Instruction
Classes are taught in a seminar style and are writing intensive. Class activities include simulations and discussions that draw from students' personal and professional backgrounds to achieve a broader understanding of the material. In our majors, each course builds on the next so you can maximize the impact of the learning.
Convenient Locations
We offer degree-completion programs at
four locations - in Portland, Salem, and Clackamas, Oregon, and Boise, Idaho.
Begin with 31 Hours of Credit
The degree-completion programs at George Fox have been expanded to admit those with 31 semester hours of credit and five years of work experience. This allows you to enter at the sophomore level.
Expanded Class Offerings
We have added
general education/elective courses that enable you to earn the credits you need to begin your major.
Accommodating Schedule
Students may take
general education/elective courses that are offered in a weeknight or weekend format. Classes meet once a week for eight weeks, with two eight-week terms in each 16-week semester. Many of these classes will fill your need for
general education or elective credits.
Enhanced Portfolio Program
Students who need elective credit can earn up to 30 hours of credit for professional training and/or life experiences. If you need these hours, we encourage you to enroll in our Personal and Professional Assessment class. Students who pass this three-semester-hour class are eligible to receive up to 30 hours of training and life-learning credit. Students who don't take the class may still submit items for credit and pay $50 per hour for any professional training or life-learning credit received.
Free Transcript Evaluation
Let our friendly enrollment staff tell you how close you are to finishing your degree. All we need are copies of your transcripts to do a free transcript evaluation. Our degree programs have maximum flexibility, so your previous college credits should transfer easily.
Small, Supportive Cohorts
Your major classes will be completed with the same group of students - colleagues who will motivate you and provide continual support. Each cohort consists of no more than 20 students.
Affordability
Tuition includes all textbooks needed for the courses. Payment plans are available, and financial aid is available for all incoming students who qualify. You must take a minimum of six credit hours each semester to qualify for financial aid. There are no hidden prerequisites, no hidden fees, and books are delivered to you.
