George Fox Seminary and the Doctor of Ministry program invites you to join other SFS/LEC dissertation students and graduates for an Advance with Len Sweet March 2014!
Advance Details
- Date: Sunday 4:30pm – 12:30pm Tuesday, March 16-18, 2014
- Location: Len Sweet’s compound on Orcas Island
- Who: Alumni and ABD students and their spouses, only.
- Participation Limited: The advance will be limited to a maximum of 15 alumni and their spouses. First come, first serve! Register early to secure your spot.
- Topic: Up to you! Come prepared with something YOU would like to process with Len and others.
- Fee: $500; $650 for those bringing a spouse
- Deadline: March 1, 2014
This includes:
- The Advance with Len Sweet
- Six meals: Dinner on Sunday, breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Monday, and breakfast and lunch Tuesday
Lodging
Alumni/3rd year students are responsible for all travel and lodging costs and preparations. Alumni/3rd year students who wish to stay at Leonard Sweet's compound, namely, the North Shore Cottages, may do so on a first-come-first-serve basis. We also recommend the Outlook Inn and Eastsound Landmark Inn as alternative lodging locations. The Sweets are happy to offer a 20% discount to alumni who stay at one of the North Shore cottages. Book online and the discount will be applied to the balance due at checkout.

We intend to continue an on-going tradition of offering an annual FutureChurch Think Tank Advance to SFS/LEC DMin graduates and 3rd year students. Our objectives for the advances are to…
- pursue further reflection, education, and connection with Len Sweet on topics relating to Jesus, church, culture, semiotics, and the future
- reconnect with students from your cohort
- forge new relationships with like-minded SFS/LEC DMin graduates and 3rd year students from other cohorts
