Just over a week from now, I am hopping in a car and driving to San Francisco for the Ultimate Road Trip. Why? It’s part of my job. Not the driving, mind you, but the underlying purpose. I am making the journey so that I can connect with alumni of George Fox. You see, the core function of my job is to develop and foster relationships between our graduates and their alma mater. But, too often these relationships exist over significant physical distance, resulting in a lack of personal connection. At George Fox, however, we like to use the phrase “Be Known.” And I believe this idea doesn’t stop when you graduate!
In many ways, the Ultimate Road Trip is all about “Be Known.” As I make my way down the I-5 corridor, my primary goal is getting to know our alumni. With each person I meet, I hope to hear his or her unique George Fox story. I love listening to these stories, as together they display the work that George Fox has accomplished for so many years.
Hearing these stories also provides a great opportunity for me to share about the incredible things going on at George Fox today.
If you live along the route of the Ultimate Road Trip, I hope to have the opportunity to connect with you. And if you live elsewhere, I hope that you will follow the journey on the Ultimate Road Trip Blog.
I’ll see you on the road!
