Paddle & Putt

Join us for our first-ever GFU Alumni Adventure!

The Central Oregon Paddle & Putt will be the optimal Central Oregon event. Whether you prefer the rush of the river or the peace of the green, there is something for you. Alumni, parents, students and friends are invited to take on the whitewater of the Deschutes River, golf at Juniper Golf Course, and join us for a social time of heavy hors d’oeuvres. Sign up for one, two or all three!

Saturday, June 25

 Rafting Trip – Maupin, Ore.
9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
$70 per person (ages 11 and up)
Are you ready to feel the rush of the river and the warmth of the sun? Join us for a full day of whitewater rafting on the scenic Deschutes River in Central Oregon. We’ll take on Class III and IV rapids, splash around a bit, and most importantly, enjoy light-hearted community and faith-building fellowship. This 11-mile adventure takes off at Harpham Flats and ends at Sandy Beach. Come prepared to paddle and get wet! A picnic lunch is included, and a professional river guide from YD Adventures will guide each boat.  For safety reasons, YD Adventures requires pregnant women to remain ashore.

Sunday, June 26

Golf at Juniper Golf Course – Redmond, Ore.
Tee off 11-11:30 a.m.
$65 per person (green fee for 18 holes)
There is nothing like the feel of fresh-cut grass under your feet and a golf club in your hand. Juniper Golf Course is located in the heart of Central Oregon and was rated “Best Places to Play” by Golf Digest in 2008-09. The course provides beautiful views of Mt. Washington, Mt. Bachelor, Broken Top and Three Sisters. Register a group of four or make some new connections and join a group of fellow GFU friends.
Note: This fee does not include range balls or a golf cart. They can be purchased at the golf course the day of the event.

Hors d’oeuvres Social – Juniper Golf Course, Redmond, Ore.
3:30-5 p.m.
$7 per person (complimentary to those who register for either rafting or golf)
Beautiful views, excellent food and great conversations will be the theme of this hors d’oeuvres social. All are welcome to come to this event! Even if you didn’t brave the rapids or play the course you can enjoy some food and friendship. Meet our university relations staff and connect with other GFU alumni, parents, students and friends. We hope to see you there!
