Blair Cash, now in his seventh year as sports information director at George Fox, is responsible for publicity for the Bruins’ 13 varsity sports. He also serves on the Sports Hall of Fame Selection Committee.

Cash previously supervised sports information offices at Belhaven (1972-77), Montevallo (1977-82), and South Alabama (1982-83). He entered full-time Christian ministry in 1983, but kept his hand in athletics as a sports information volunteer at Texas-Pan American (1989-94). He returned to sports information full-time in 1998 with a short stint as an assistant SID at Texas State-San Marcos and six months as SID at Samford in the spring of 1999.

An active member of the College Sports Information Directors of America, Cash organizes the annual CoSIDA chapel service and serves on the Ethics Committee. He holds professional memberships in the United States Basketball Writers Association and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association. In the spring of 2005, he co-ordinated the NCBWA’s selection process for the NCAA Division III National Hitters and Pitchers of the Week.

At various times, Cash has worked as information director for the NAIA’s District 27, the Southern States Conference, and the Mississippi Soccer Association, and as a part-time sportswriter for daily papers in Jackson and Natchez, Miss. He was official scorer for the Jackson Generals Texas League baseball team for five seasons and the Birmingham Barons of the Southern League for one, scored the 1999 Southeastern Conference Baseball Tournament, and has served as scorer for the Portland Beavers since their return to the Pacific Coast League in 2001.

A native of Jackson, Miss., the 52-year-old Cash earned a Christian education degree from Belhaven in 1976, and master's degrees in divinity and Christian education from Reformed Theological Seminary in 1987. An ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church USA, he has pastored at churches in Edinburg, Texas, Natchez, Miss., and Jackson, Miss., and is a minister-at-large in the Presbytery of the Cascades. He and his wife Debbie, an accountant at George Fox, live in Newberg with their two children, Milton, 13, and Megan, 11.
