3/17 - ALL-REGION: Bruins' Gayman Selected to NCAA Division III All-West Region Second Team

NEWBERG, Ore. - Senior Mark Gayman, the Northwest Conference Player of the Year who was a key to the best George Fox University men's basketball season in over a dozen years, has been named to the D3hoops.com/NCAA Division III All-West Region Second Team as chosen by the region's sports information directors.

Gayman, a 6-4 forward from Hillsboro, Ore., was the only Northwest Conference player on the three All-Region teams. He earned top honors in the conference after averaging 18.0 points and 8.3 rebounds per game while shooting .484 from the field. He led the NWC in rebounding, was 2nd in scoring, and ranked 13th in field goal percentage. He posted 9 double-doubles in points and rebounds during the season, and scored a career-high 32 vs. California-Santa Cruz. He completed his George Fox career with 1,457 points, 8th on the all-time scoring list. His leadership was crucial in lifting the Bruins to an 11-game improvement as they finished 18-7 overall and 13-3 in the conference, finishing 2nd behind Puget Sound. It was the most wins for a George Fox team in 13 years, and the Bruins' .720 winning percentage was their best in 14 years.
