COACH MARK SUNDQUIST
Mark Sundquist (Seattle Pacific '89), the 2005-06 Northwest Conference Coach of the Year, is 53-81 (.396) to date in his 6th season as a college head coach, all at George Fox. He picked up his 50th win on Dec. 6 when the Bruins rallied from 15 down to defeat Corban College 87-82. He coached the boys' programs at Woodburn (Ore.) High for two years and at Newberg (Ore.) * Parker HM for NWC "Player of the Week" for Nov. 28-Dec. 4
Junior post Chris Parker gave the Bruins a spark off the bench in all three games in California, receiving honorable mention for Northwest Conference "Player of the Week" for Dec. 12-23. In a 68-64 win at Whittier, he scored a team-high 18 points on 7-9 field goals and 4-5 free throws, with a team-leading 7 rebounds and an assist. In an 84-75 setback to La Verne, he had 10 points on 5-6 field goals, with a rebound and 2 assists. In a 90-85 win at Chapman, he scored 11 points on 4-8 field goals and 3-5 free throws, with 2 rebounds. For the week, he scored 39 points (13.0 ppg) on 16-26 field goals (.615) and 7-12 free throws (.583), with 10 rebounds (3.3 rpg) and 3 assists.

With the Bruins' first 10 games of the season, Mike "Biggs" Wirta, George Fox's statistical guru, has stretched his string of keeping statistics at George Fox men's basketball contests, home and road, to 573 in a row, and to 421 in a row at home. The last home game he missed was in 1972. He has now seen 985 men's games altogether (48.9% of all 2,013 GFU games ever played) and, barring any unforeseen circumstances, should observe his 1,000th game on the last day of the regular season, vs. Willamette at home on Feb. 18 ...
