* Heu-Weller Gets First Double-Double Before Home Folks

Phil Heu-Weller posted his first career double-double in front of a large gathering of his family and friends when the Bruins dropped a 78-67 decision to NCAA Division II St. Martin's Dec. 20 in Lacey, Wash. Lacey is a suburb of the state capital of Olympia, where Heu-Weller was a star at Olympia High School. He had 13 points and a game-high 10 rebounds, tying his career best, but it did not come easy. Earlier in the week, he had suffered a broken nose in practice and had to wear a protective clear plastic shield in the real game, which hampered his shooting accuracy. Normally one of the best long-range shooters in the league, he was 5-16 from the field and 2-9 from three-point range en route to his 13 points.
