Northwest (3-2): Game time was moved up half an hour from 7:30 p.m. by mutual agreement of the coaches to allow the Bruins to get back home a little earlier for the Thanksgiving break ... The Eagles from Kirkland, Wash., are members of the NAIA and the Cascade Collegiate Conference ... Northwest defeated the Bruins in their only meeting last year, 72-68 in Kirkland on Dec. 5 ... The Bruins won the game before that, 107-91 in Newberg on Nov. 19, 2005 ... The Eagles average 73.6 ppg while allowing 67.2 ppg ... The Eagles have three players in double figure scoring: G Eddie Coulson (14.0), F Patrick Mattson (11.8), and F Greg George (11.8) ... Northwest hosts Puget Sound Nov. 20 before meeting the Bruins, then plays at Western Washington in an exhibition game Friday at 7 p.m. ... COACH MARK SUNDQUIST
Mark Sundquist (Seattle Pacific '89) is 74-102 (.420) in his eighth season as a college head coach, all at George Fox. In the past three-plus years, he has guided the Bruins to a 47-30 record (.610). He was the NWC Coach of the Year in 2004-05 for leading the Bruins to an 18-7 record and 2nd place in the conference. He coached the boys' programs at Woodburn (Ore.) * Atwater BAA Athlete of the Week, HM for NWC Honors
Sophomore wing Evan Atwater has been named the Bruin Athletic Association Men's Athlete of the Week and also received honorable mention for Northwest Conference Men's Player of the Week for Nov. 12-18 after earning All-Tournament honors in the Colorado College Tipoff Tournament Nov. 16-17 in Colorado Springs, Colo. In a season-opening 77-63 loss to McMurry on Friday, he came off the bench to score 18 points, hitting 5-12 from the field (4-9 on threes) and 4-5 from the line, with 6 rebounds, 2 steals and an assist. In a 62-58 win over host Colorado College on Saturday, he had a game and career-high 25 points, hitting 7-10 from the field (all three-pointers) and 4-4 from the line, with 2 rebounds and an assist. For the week, he scored 43 points (21.5 ppg) on 12-22 (.545) from the field, including 11-19 (.579) on threes, and 8-9 (.889) from the line, with 8 rebounds, 2 steals, and 2 assists. In the early going, he ranks 1st in the NWC in 3-pt field goals per game (5.50), 3rd in scoring (21.5), 5th in 3-pt pct. (.579) and free throw pct. (.889), and 13th in field goal pct. (.545).

When Evan Atwater connected on 7 of 10 3-pt field goals in the Bruins' 62-58 win over Colorado College on Nov. 17 in the Colorado College Tipoff Tournament, he came within two baskets of the George Fox record of 9 threes by Nick Haij in a game at Concordia-Portland on Nov. 18, 1994. It was the most three-pointers in a game by a Bruin since Aaron Schmick drilled in 7 of 11 at Northwest (Wash.) on Dec. 13, 2003.

Mike "Biggs" Wirta, who has been charting basketball statistics for the George Fox men's team since the 1970-71 season while he was an undergraduate student, hit a major milestone with the Bruins' second game vs. Colorado College in the Colorado College Tipoff Tournament on Nov. 16. It was the 1,027th game he has seen, which is exactly half of the 2,054 games that have been played in 104 years of Bruin basketball. He stretched his streak of consecutive GFU men's basketball games seen, both home and road, to 615. He has also worked 438 in a row at home, not missing a home game since 1972 when he was in military service.
