Jeff Nelson, an award-winning goalkeeper for the Bruins from 1991-94, is now in his fifth year as an assistant with the men's soccer program at George Fox, lending his expertise to the current goalies.

Nelson holds team records for lowest goals-against average in a season (0.71 in 1993) and a career (0.92), and most shutouts in a season (14 in 1993) and a career (34). As a senior, he was the team's Most Valuable Player. A three-time NAIA All-District 2 and All-Area/Region selection, he was named the NAIA National Goalkeeper of the Year in 1994. He was an NAIA Third Team All-American in 1993, and an NAIA Second Team and NSCAA/Umbro First Team All-American in 1994.

Following his college career, he played professionally for the Cascade Surge. Nelson was inducted into the George Fox Sports Hall of Fame in January 2004.
