3/10 - PACIFIC LUTHERAN 9, GEORGE FOX 0: Bruins Fall to Lutes in "Neutral-Site" Match at UPS
TACOMA, Wash. - With wet weather sending the match across town to the University of Puget Sound, the Pacific Lutheran University Lutes defeated the George Fox University Bruins 9-0 Saturday afternoon in a Northwest Conference men's tennis match here at the UPS indoor courts.
The Lutes captured the doubles to open the match as David Miller and Justin Larimore defeated the Bruins' Kyle Pearson and Ralf Schulz 8-1 at #1, Justin Peterson and Jeff Loranger downed Jordon Vargas and Nick Jenness 8-2 at #2, and Kevin Floyd and Jared Vidano dropped Mac Ovenell and Shawn McKenzie 8-3 at #3.
In singles, the Lutes got victories from Miller over Pearson 6-2, 6-0 at #1, Loranger over Ovenell 6-2, 6-3 at #2, Floyd over Jenness 6-0, 6-1 at #3, Larimore over Schulz 6-1, 6-0 at #4, Vidano over Vargas 6-4, 6-0 at #5, and Jamie Crosetto over McKenzie 6-3, 6-1 at #6.
George Fox (2-5, NWC 2-5) returns to action Thursday, hosting Willamette University at 3 p.m. in a makeup of a match that was rained out on Friday. Pacific Lutheran (5-4, NWC 5-2) visits Pacific University at 10 a.m. and Lewis & Clark College at 2 p.m. next Saturday.
