* Rookie Peterson Wins BAA Athlete of the Week Honors
Freshman 3B Ashley Peterson was named the Bruin Athletic Association Women's Athlete of the Week for Feb. 11-17 after a good start in California. Ina 9-9 tie with Patten in the Priscilla Benham Tournament in Livermore, Calif., on Friday, she was 3-3 with a double, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI. In Saturday's tournament games, she was 0-3 in a 9-1 loss to Bethany, but bounced back to go 1-2 with a walk and a run an 8-3 loss to Northwest Christian. On Sunday, in a non-tournament doubleheader at Menlo, she was 3-4 with a home run and 3 RBI in an 8-6 first-game loss, and 2-4 with 2 runs scored in a 4-3 second-game loss. For the week, in five games, she was 9-16 (.563) with a double, a home run, an .813 slugging percentage, a stolen bases, 6 runs scored and 5 RBI.
