11/29 - GEORGE FOX 77, EASTERN OREGON 56: Bruins Cruise Past Mountaineers in Lady 'Yote Opener

CALDWELL, Idaho - Liz Clark scored a career-high 24 points and tied her career highs with 9 rebounds and 6 assists, leading the George Fox University Bruins to a 77-56 victory over the Eastern Oregon University Mountaineers in the opening game of the Lady 'Yote Classic Friday evening (Nov. 29) here at the Albertson College Activities Center.

The Bruins outscored the Mountaineers by double figures in both halves, leading 36-25 at the break and posting a 41-31 margin in the second half, to improve to 2-1 on the season. Eastern Oregon fell to 0-3.

Clark hit 9-13 from the field, including 3-4 from 3-point range, and 3-4 from the line to top her previous best by 7 points, and also picked up 4 steals to lead the defense. Kim Leith, making her first start at point guard, chipped in with 19 points, including 5 treys, while Darby Cave added 11 points. Kellie Thomas grabbed 6 rebounds as the Bruins won the battle of the boards 48-32, and also had 5 assists.

The Mountaineers, who were held to a .323 shooting percentage (20-62), were led by Cory Nelson with 13 points and Tricia Haddock with 11. Michelle Kinley had 8 rebounds and Christy Smith 7 for Eastern Oregon.

George Fox will take on host Albertson Saturday (Nov. 30) in the Classic's final game at 6:00 p.m. PDT (7:00 p.m. Mountain time). Eastern Oregon will play the College of Great Falls, Albertson's late Friday opponent, at 4:00 p.m. PDT in the first game Saturday.
