BRUIN BITS:

* Thomas Honorable Mention for NWC Player of the Week:

Kellie Thomas (Fr., W, Medford, Ore.) kept the Bruins in the game in their only contest of the week, a 65-58 loss to D-II Seattle at home on Saturday, to garner Honorable Mention for Northwest Conference "Player of the Week" for Dec. 9-15. She scored a team and career-high 19 points on 8-20 from the field (1-4 on 3's) and 2-2 from the line, with 2 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. She has stepped into a starting role for the Bruins as a red-shirt freshman after health problems sidelined most of last year.

NWC "Player of the Week" went to Courtney Johnson of Pacific Lutheran, who led the Lutes to a pair of wins with 31 point, 15 rebounds, and 9 blocked shots.

* Bruins Aiming for 4th Straight 20-Win Season:
With a final 20-6 record in 2001-02, the George Fox Bruins posted their 3rd straight season of 20 or more wins. No Bruin teams had ever posted back-to-back 20-win seasons; in fact, George Fox had only two 20-win seasons in women's basketball history prior to 1999, going back to the '81-82 season when complete records began to be kept.
