COACH SCOTT RUECK (Oregon State '91) has a record of 136-53 (.720) in his 8th season as a head coach, all at George Fox. He was Northwest Conference "Coach of the Year" in 1999-2000 and "Co-Coach of the Year" in 2000-01. He and his wife Kerry, a GFU assistant coach and former Bruin player, became proud parents on Oct. 21 with the birth of their first child, son Cole Michael.

Darby Cave (Sr., Portland, Ore. / Central Catholic HS) had two fine shooting games during the Bruins' 0-2 week and was nominated for Northwest Conference "Player of the Week" for Jan. 5-11. In a 53-44 loss to Puget Sound on Friday, she scored 8 points, hitting 3-3 from the field and 2-2 from the line, with 8 rebounds and 1 steal. In a 69-52 loss to Pacific Lutheran on Saturday, she hit 7-12 from the field and 2-2 from the line for 16 points, and pulled down 7 rebounds. For the week, in 2 games, she scored 24 points (12.0), hitting 10-15 from the field (.667) and 4-4 from the line (1.000), with 15 rebounds (7.5) and 1 steal. Cave ranks among the national leaders in field goal pct. (.581).
