COACH SCOTT RUECK (Oregon State '91) has a record of 138-54 (.719) in his 8th season as a head coach, all at George Fox. He was Northwest Conference "Coach of the Year" in 1999-2000 and "Co-Coach of the Year" in 2000-01. He and his wife Kerry, a GFU assistant coach and former Bruin player, became proud parents on Oct. 21 with the birth of their first child, son Cole Michael.

Darby Cave (Sr., Portland, Ore. / Central Catholic HS), for the second week in a row, has earned Honorable Mention for Northwest Conference "Player of the Week" for Jan. 12-18 after posting three good games during the Bruins' 2-1 week. In a 70-42 win over Pacific on Tuesday, she had 10 points on 5-9 shooting (0-4 from the line) with 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 blocks, and 1 steal. In a 65-45 win at Lewis & Clark Friday, she hit 3-10 from the field and 3-4 from the line for 9 points, with 9 rebounds and 3 blocks. In a 59-51 loss at Linfield Saturday, she scored a career-high 22 points, hitting 9-14 from the field and 4-5 from the line, with 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 blocks, and 1 steal. In 3 games, she totaled 41 points (13.7), hitting 17-33 (.515) from the field and 7-13 (.538) from the line, with 22 rebounds (7.3), 2 assists, 8 blocks, and 2 steals. Cave ranks 18th among the national leaders in field goal pct. (.581).
