COACH SCOTT RUECK (Oregon State '91) has a record of 139-58 (.706) in his 8th season as a head coach, all at George Fox. He was Northwest Conference "Coach of the Year" in 1999-2000 and "Co-Coach of the Year" in 2000-01. This year, he is serving as a rater for the NCAA Division III national poll conducted by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association. He and his wife Kerry, a GFU assistant coach and former Bruin player, became proud parents on Oct. 21 with the birth of their first child, son Cole Michael.

Kellie Thomas had a pair of 16-point games as the Bruins went 0-2 on the road swing to Tacoma, earning Honorable Mention for Northwest Conference "Player of the Week" for Feb. 2-8. In a 65-61 loss at Puget Sound on Friday, she scored 16 on 6-16 from the field (0-4 on 3's) and 4-4 from the line, with 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, and 2 steals. In a 74-49 loss at Pacific Lutheran on Saturday, she again scored 16 on 6-15 from the field (2-4 on 3's) and 2-2 from the line, with 1 rebound, 2 assists, and 2 steals. In 2 games during the week, she totaled 32 points (16.0), hitting 12-31 (.387) from the floor (2-8 on 3's, .250) and 6-6 (1.000) from the line, with 6 rebounds (3.0), 3 assists (1.5), and 4 steals (2.0).
NWC "Player of the Week" honors went to Courtney Johnson of Pacific Lutheran for her 23 blocked shots, 28 points, and 19 rebounds in the Lutes' two wins.
