3/17 - ALL-REGION: Bruins' Leith Named Second Team, Clark Third Team All-West Region

NEWBERG, Ore. - Two members of George Fox University's women's basketball team which achieved unprecedented heights this season, shooting guard Kim Leith and forward Liz Clark, have been named to the D3hoops.com/NCAA Division III All-West Region teams as chosen by the region's sports information directors.

Leith, a 5-7 junior from Sherwood, Ore., was named to the All-West Region Second Team, while Clark, a 5-9 senior from Elbe, Wash., was selected to the All-West Region Third Team. Both played major roles in the Bruins' 22-6 record, No. 10 WBCA national ranking, 14-2 Northwest Conference record and league championship, and a run through the NCAA National Tournament to the "Elite 8".

Leith was named the Northwest Conference Player of the Year after averaging 18.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game. Her scoring average was 5th in the conference and 35th nationally, and she set a new school record with 30 points in one half against Neumann. One of the best three-point shooters around, she led the NWC and ranked 8th nationally in three-point field goals per game (2.89), while her three-point percentage of .400 was 3rd in the conference and 28th nationally. She set a new George Fox single-season record with 485 points, and moved into 8th place on the all-time GFU scoring list with 1,004 career points.

Clark was a First Team All-Northwest Conference selection after averaging 10.8 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 2.8 steals per game. She led the conference in steals, and ranked 4th in rebounding, 7th in assists, and 16th in scoring. She posted 7 double-doubles in points and rebounds during the season, including a career-high 20 rebounds in the Bruins' NCAA Tournament second-round win over Chapman. She finished her career 6th all-time in rebounds (743), 7th in steals (175), and 8th in assists (218).
