Scott Rueck (Oregon State '91) is 180-69 (.723) to date in his 10th season as a college head coach, all at George Fox. He was named Northwest Conference Coach of the Year for the third time in 2004-05 after leading the Bruins to the NWC title and the "Elite 8" of the NCAA National Tournament. Sophomore wing Katy Campbell was the Bruins' most consistent performer during a 1-1 week, receiving honorable mention for Northwest Conference Player of the Week for Jan. 16-22. In an 85-84 overtime loss to Pacific Lutheran, she scored 15 points on 7-11 from the field (1-2 on threes), with 7 rebounds and 1 assist. In a 76-48 win at Willamette, she had 11 points on 3-8 from the field (0-3 on threes) and 5-6 from the line, with 9 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal. For the week, she totaled 26 points (13.0 ppg) on 10-19 (.526) from the field, including 1-5 (.200) from three-point range, and 5-6 (.857) from the line, with 16 rebounds (8.0 rpg), 2 assists, and 1 steal.

After a 1-1 weekend that included a last-second overtime loss to 22nd-ranked Pacific Lutheran and a road win over Willamette, George Fox (15-2) dropped from 4th in both national polls to 10th in the USA Today/ESPN/Women's Basketball Coaches Association poll of Jan. 24 and to 14th in the D3hoops.com poll. The Bruins received 131 votes in the WBCA poll and 321 in the D3hoops voting. The University of Southern Maine (16-1) remained No. 1 in both polls. Pacific Lutheran (14-2) is the only other Northwest Conference team ranked, 21st in each.
