COACH SCOTT RUECK:

Scott Rueck (Oregon State '91) is 193-77 (.715) to date in his 11th season as a college head coach, all at George Fox. He was named Northwest Conference Coach of the Year for the third time in 2004-05 after leading the Bruins to the NWC title and the "Elite 8" of the NCAA National Tournament. * Behary BAA Athlete of the Week, HM for NWC Player Honors

Tiffany Behary has been named the Bruin Athletic Association Women's Athlete of the Week, and also received honorable mention for Northwest Conference Women's Player of the Week, for Jan. 8-14 after leading the Bruins to a pair of league wins with some sharp shooting off the bench. In a 72-35 win over Willamette Friday, the junior point guard scored 12 points on 4-8 field goals (4-7 on threes), with 3 steals and a rebound in only 15 minutes of action. In a 70-59 win at Pacific Saturday, she had 11 points on 4-5 field goals (3-4 on threes), with 5 rebounds and 3 assists. For the week, she scored 23 points (11.5 ppg) on 8-13 field goals (.625), including 7-11 (.636) on threes, with 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals.

* Polls: Bruins Lead All "Others" in WBCA Rankings

Edging closer to the top 25, the George Fox Bruins received the most points among "others receiving votes" in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches' Poll of Jan. 16. The Bruins received 17 points, up from 12 the week before, in the balloting by 10 head coaches around the country. Puget Sound (12-3) was 21st with 41 points. Bowdoin (15-0) replaced Hope as the top-ranked team with 248 points and eight first-place votes.

In the D3hoops.com poll, which is voted on by a panel of 25 coaches, sports information directors, and media members, the Bruins picked up 11 votes (5 more than last week) and were eighth among "others receiving votes". Puget Sound was 20th with 119 points. Bowdoin remained the top-ranked team with 621 points and 21 of 25 first-place votes.
