* Bruins Nail Down 14th Consecutive Winning Season
The Bruins' 64-62 win over 20th-ranked Puget Sound meant a lot of things - it was their third win in as many games against opponents nationally ranked in NCAA Division III, it moved the Bruins into a tie for first in the Northwest Conference with the Loggers and gave them the tiebreaker over UPS if the teams tie by virtue of a season sweep, and it secured the 14th straight winning season for the Bruins. The winning streak began in 1993-94 in the first of three years under Sherrie Murrell, now the head coach at Washington State. The Bruins were 51-33 under Murrell, and have gone 196-78 in 10+ winning seasons under Scott Rueck. The Bruins have won three NWC championships and made three NCAA Tournament appearances during their streak.
* Polls: Bruins Remain Among "Others" in National Rankings
With a loss to unranked Linfield and a win over 20th-ranked Puget Sound, the George Fox Bruins continued to be listed among "others receiving votes" in the two D-III women's basketball polls this week.

The Bruins' win over Puget Sound cost the Loggers a spot in the rankings, as they dropped from 20th to "others" with 11 points. Bowdoin (19-1) replaced Chicago as the top-ranked team with 219 points and seven first-place votes.
In the D3hoops.com poll of Jan. 29, which is voted on by a panel of 25 coaches, sports information directors, and media members, the Bruins picked up 2 points, down from 11 the week before.
