Scott Rueck (Oregon State '91) is 186-73 (.718) to date in his 11th season as a college head coach, all at George Fox. He was named Northwest Conference Coach of the Year for the third time in 2004-05 after leading the Bruins to the NWC title and the "Elite 8" of the NCAA National Tournament. Marek-Farris BAA Athlete of the Week, HM for NWC Player Honors
Junior post Melissa Marek-Farris has been named Bruin Athletic Association Women's Athlete of the Week, and also received honorable mention for Northwest Conference Women's Player of the Week for Nov. 13-19 for her instrumental role in leading the Bruins to a 2-0 season-opening home weekend. In a 58-44 win over Oregon Tech on Friday, she had a game-high 14 points on 5-6 from the field and 4-6 from the line, with 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocked shots, and a steal. In an 81-65 win over Northwest on Saturday, she recorded her first career double-double with 15 points on 6-8 from the field and 3-3 from the line and 12 rebounds, with 4 blocks and an assist. For the week, she scored 29 points (14.5) on 11-14 (.786) from the field and 7-9 (.778) from the line, with 19 rebounds (9.5), 6 blocks, 3 assists, and a steal. She is the NWC leader in blocks (3.0 bspg) and is 2nd in field goal pct. (.786), 5th in rebounding (9.5), and 7th in scoring (14.5).
