Scott Rueck (Oregon State '91) is 189-77 (.711) to date in his 11th season as a college head coach, all at George Fox. He was named Northwest Conference Coach of the Year for the third time in 2004-05 after leading the Bruins to the NWC title and the "Elite 8" of the NCAA National Tournament. Taylor BAA Athlete of the Week, HM for NWC Honors
Senior wing Robin Taylor has been named Bruin Athletic Association Women's Athlete of the Week for the second week in a row, and also received honorable mention again for Northwest Conference Women's Player of the Week for Dec. 11-21 after two good games in the Hoop-n-Surf Classic in Honolulu, Hawaii. In a 53-47 loss to Wisconsin-Whitewater on Dec. 17, she scored 20 points on 8-17 field goals (3-8 on threes) and 1-3 free throws, with 7 rebounds, 4 steals, and an assist. In a 57-41 upset of #16 Bridgewater on Dec. 18, she had 10 points on 4-9 field goals and 2-3 free throws, with 6 rebounds and a steal, a block, and an assist. For the week, she scored 30 points (15.0) on 12-26 field goals (.462), including 3-11 threes (.273),and 3-6 free throws (.500), with 13 rebounds (6.5), 5 steals, 2 assists, and a block. She currently ranks 3rd in the conference in 3-pt field goals (1.56), 5th in scoring (13.6), 6th in free throw pct. (.821), 10th in rebounding (6.4), and 13th in 3 -pt field goal pct. (.304).

* Ramey Sparkles in First Career Start
Kaleigha Ramey, in the first start of her career, gave the Bruins a huge offensive lift in their 57-41 upset of 16th-ranked Bridgewater in the Hoop-n-Surf Classic in Honolulu, Hawaii, on Dec. 18. "Our defense has been outstanding all year long, but our offense has been inconsistent," explained coach Scott Rueck. "We thought Kali might give us some more offense against a team we felt we matched up well with, and she certainly responded with a tremendous effort." The junior wing scored a game and career-high 18 points, hitting 7-10 from the field, including a perfect 3-3 from three-point range, plus a free throw. It was the Bruins' second win in as many tries against nationally-ranked NCAA Division III teams this season (the Bruins defeated Puget Sound, ranked 17th at the time, 58-50 in Tacoma, Wash., on Dec. 2).
* Point Guard Behary Rejoins Team for Second Half
Tiffany Behary, who started at point guard as a freshman and sophomore each of the last two seasons, is rejoining the team this week after spending the fall semester at Oregon State University. With Behary at the point, the Bruins went 22-6 in 2004-05, winning the Northwest Conference crown and reaching the "Elite 8" of the NCAA Division III National Tournament, and 19-6 in 2005-06. In her first two seasons, she started 53 games, scoring 359 points (6.8 ppg) with 157 assists (2.96 apg) and 102 steals (1.92 spg) and ranking among the NWC leaders in assists and steals both years. She will be immediately eligible, as she was not playing basketball at OSU.
