Scott Rueck (Oregon State '91), the 2006-07 Northwest Conference Coach of the Year, is 213-81 (.724) to date in his 12th season as a college head coach, all at George Fox. He also received NWC Coach of the Year honors in 1999-2000, 2000-01 (Co-Coach), and 2004-05. * Campbell BAA Athlete of the Week, HM for NWC Honors
Senior forward Katy Campbell has been named the Bruin Athletic Association Women's Athlete of the Week for Dec. 31-Jan. 6 after leading the Bruins to Northwest Conference-opening wins over Pacific Lutheran and Puget Sound. In a 64-40 win over PLU on Jan. 4, the she had 7 points on 2-6 from the field (1-2 on threes) and 2-2 from the line, with 11 rebounds, 2 assists and a blocked shot. In a 45-39 win over #23 Puget Sound on Jan. 5, she posted her fourth double-double of the season, scoring 15 points on 6-11 from the field (1-3 on threes) and 2-4 from the line, with 10 rebounds, 4 assists, and a blocked shot and a steal. In two games, she scored 22 points (11.0) on 8-17 field goals (.471), includign 2-5 (.400) on threes, and 4-6 (.667) free throws, with 21 rebounds (10.5), 6 assists, 2 blocks and a steal.
Campbell also received honorable mention for NWC Women's Player of the Week for Dec. 27-Jan. 5, which included wins at Northwest on Dec. 28 (17 points, 11 rebounds) and over Worcester State (11 points, 1 rebound) on Dec. 29. Her four-game totals were 50 points (12.5) on 19-35 (.543) field goals, including 5-11 (.455) on threes, and 7-9 (.778) free throws, with 33 rebounds (8.25), 8 assists, 2 blocks and a steal.

The George Fox Bruins remained 18th in the D3hoops.com NCAA Division III national poll of Jan. 7, receiving 201 points after being 18th with 175 points the week before. In the USA Today / ESPN poll of Jan. 8 as voted on by the Women's Basketball Coaches of America, George Fox was up one spot in 19th with 58 points after being 20th with 56 points the week before. George Fox has been ranked in the polls six of the past eight years (2000, '01, '02, '05, '06, '07). The Bruins' highest ranking ever was No. 1, a spot they held for two week in February of 2001.
No other Northwest Conference teams were ranked in the top 25, although Puget Sound did receive 38 points, the second-most among others receiving votes, in the D3hoops.com poll. Hope (11-0) was ranked No. 1 in both polls for the second week in a row.
