Scott Rueck (Oregon State '91), the 2006-07 Northwest Conference Coach of the Year, is 209-81 (.721) to date in his 12th season as a college head coach, all at George Fox. He also received NWC Coach of the Year honors in 1999-2000, 2000-01 (Co-Coach), and 2004-05. * Campbell BAA Athlete of the Week, Nominated for NWC Honors
Senior forward Katy Campbell has been named the Bruin Athletic Association Women's Athlete of the Week and has been nominated for Northwest Conference Player of the Week for Dec. 17-23 after leading the Bruins in scoring twice and earning All-Tournament honors in the Posada Royale #1 Tournament Dec. 17-18 in Thousand Oaks, Calif. The NWC Player of the Week will not be announced until Dec. 27 in the next league press release. In a 61-58 loss to William Smith on Dec. 17, Campbell scored 14 points on 4-7 from the field (1-1 on threes) and 5-6 from the line, with 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and a blocked shot. In a 72-46 win over California State-East Bay on Dec. 18, she had 12 points on 4-7 from the field (2-4 on threes) and 2-2 from the line, with 4 rebounds, an assist and a steal. For the week, she scored 26 points (13.0) on 8-14 shooting (.571), including 3-5 (.600) on threes, and 7-8 (.875) from the line, with 8 rebounds (4.0), 4 assists, 3 steals and a block.

The George Fox Bruins are ranked 16th in the D3hoops.com NCAA Division III national poll of Dec. 17, receiving 251 points after being 15th with 252 points the week before. In the USA Today / ESPN poll of Dec. 18 as voted on by the Women's Basketball Coaches of America, George Fox was 18th with 61 points, down two spots from 16th with 77 points the week before. The D3hoops.com poll was taken while the Bruins were 5-0 before the Posada Royale Tournament Dec. 17-18, while the WBCA poll reflected the Bruins' 5-1 record after a narrow loss to William Smith on Monday.
George Fox has been ranked in the polls six of the past eight years (2000-2002 and 2005-2007). The Bruins' highest ranking ever was No. 1, a spot they held for two week in February of 2001.
The only other Northwest Conference team in the rankings is Puget Sound, which is 24th in the D3hoops.com poll. The Bruins will first meet the Loggers on Jan. 5 in Newberg. The WBCA poll has Hope (8-0) as the No. 1 team again, while the D3hoops.com poll kept Mary Washington (7-0) as its top team where it has been all season.
