* Bruins' 2-0 Conference Start Best in Seven Years

It has been a while since the Bruins have contended for the Northwest Conference title, but their hopes have to be lifted after a 2-0 start to the 2007 NWC season with wins over Willamette and Pacific Lutheran. The last time a George Fox team won its first two conference games was 2000, the next-to-last season under coach Byron Shenk, when the Bruins won their first three NWC games en route to a 13-5 overall record and 11-3 league mark. The 1996 team also began the conference season 3-0, but no George Fox team has ever started 4-0 in the NWC. To do that this year, the Bruins would have to knock off both Whitman and Whitworth this coming weekend in Newberg, and both those teams are currently undefeated in conference play.
