Letter from the Dean

Dirk Barram

The mission of the George Fox School of Business is to prepare trusted leaders who will transform business.

We take this mission seriously and are individually and collectively committed to teaching excellence and in fostering an environment characterized by concern for each student, servanthood, individual accountability and responsibility, and high-performance expectations.

We are keenly aware that our graduates will enter a wide array of organizational and global settings where the need for both high productivity and cultural knowledge and sensitivity are vital. Our goal is to do whatever we can to equip our students to operate effectively in this environment and to do so in a way that exemplifies a Christian worldview.

The faculty I am privileged to work with live out the mission of the School of Business every day in their classrooms, where they develop a positive teaching/learning environment, and in their daily interactions with students. Each one brings years of active business-world experience as well as years of academic preparation into his/her role as a professional educator. This is more than a job to them, it is a calling … a vocation … the way that they seek to live out their spiritual commitment.

So, whether you are thinking about George Fox as the place to complete your undergraduate education, earn an MBA in one of our variety of programs, or complete a doctoral program in business administration, I am confident you will like what you see as you meet with the women and men who make up our School of Business. Take a good look at us. I believe you will be glad you did.

Let me know if I can help you in any way.

Sincerely,

Dirk Barram
