Marley Brown is a Certified Public Accountant with experience in both public and private accounting. Brown was a senior auditor with the Minneapolis office of Peat, Marwick, Mitchell and Co. (now KPMG), specializing in manufacturing, textiles, financial institutions, and nonprofit enterprises. Brown has also spent eight years as a financial officer of two high tech companies. She joined Timberline Systems Inc. in August of 1980, managed the spin-off of three major divisions, and was instrumental in taking the company public.

Marley was hired by Graphic Software Systems Inc. in June of 1987 to help position the company for a liquidity event. She retired from her position as vice president of finance and administration and corporate secretary four years later after managing the financial aspects of a merger in order to start her own small business. Brown developed a profitable wholesale distribution company, purchased a competitor, and sold the merged company two years later.

Brown's career has alternated between private business and academia. She has taught accounting and finance courses for 20 years at Portland State University, Washington State University, the University of Montana, Portland Community College and Mt. Hood Community College. She has also taught abroad at Wuhan University of Technology in China, the Free Market Business Institute in Tver and Rostov, Russia, and for a year at the Canberra Institute of Technology in Canberra, Australia. Marley is passionate about serving the King by helping students and managers using accounting and finance tools to improve decision making.
