Jon Schatz joined the faculty of the College of Business in the fall of 2015 to teach entrepreneurship in the undergraduate and MBA programs. He has 25 years of business start-up venture experience, helping more than 50 companies start and manage their businesses. Owner, manager and seller of several of his companies, Jon brings a unique perspective and experience to the classroom, focusing on real-world examples from which the students learn. He remains active in the business community by providing consulting services, helping business owners transition their businesses and managing his existing companies.
Since 2011, he has served on the board of directors for Premier Community Bank, serving on the audit committee and asset and liability management committee. Affectionately known by his students as "UJ" ("Uncle Jon"), students enjoy a teaching approach that requires they laugh, engage in the classroom and explore the wonderful and exciting world of entrepreneurship. Jon and his wife, business partner and best friend, Su, live on The Sunny Day Tree Christmas tree and timber farm.
