Letter from the Dean
Welcome to the College of Business! We are committed to creating a 21st-century business education that is like no other. The unique ingredients of our DNA can be found in our faculty, our programs and our passion for each student’s success. Simply put: We are ambitious for the success of each of our students.
We want more for our students than to make a good living. We want them to make a great life. We want them to be known not just for the credentials they earn but for the character they possess. That’s why we take our “Be Known” promise to our students so seriously. We want to know each of them by name. We also want our students to know themselves so they can invest in themselves and have the courage to be themselves in the global marketplace. Our mission is to develop trusted leaders who are prepared to transform business with competence, character and contribution.
Our Faculty and Staff
Our team of faculty and staff are a significant part of what makes us special. They are some of the finest men and women I’ve known, and I’m sure you’ll feel the same way once you meet them. Our faculty is comprised of trusted leaders who hail from the United States, England and China. Not only are they a group of top academics, scholars and teachers, many are award-winning industry experts, innovative business-thought leaders, corporate professors, certified professionals and experienced practitioners.
One of the standout attributes they possess is their commitment to loving God and loving people. They often serve as mentors and are known for the personal support and encouragement they provide. Their example is louder than their oratory.
Whether you are pursuing an undergraduate degree in one of our seven majors, an MBA or a Doctor of Business Administration degree, you’ll find our internationally accredited programs (ACBSP) are rigorous, intellectually stimulating, innovative and relationally engaging. We blur the lines between the world of business and the world of academics in our classrooms.
Along with our relevant business curriculum that is vetted by both doctorally qualified academics and external business experts, our programs incorporate applied learning experiences. Components include business simulations, real-world experiential projects, engaging case studies, global trips and international residencies, team presentations and projects, applied business and academic writing, portfolio building, corporate visits, internships, and job shadowing. We did a recent alumni survey with our MBA students, and more than 80 percent stated that their degree helped them get a promotion, a new job or earn more money.
Please know we are here to serve you and provide you with the best values-based business education and learning experience possible. We are committed to developing our students to be ethical, market-ready business professionals and trusted leaders in their fields of expertise and in their careers and callings. This is accomplished by not only increasing our students’ business acumen, problem-solving abilities, critical thinking skills and technological abilities, but also by providing them daily opportunities to deepen their character, explore and grow in their faith, and increase their commitment to make the world a better place through the contributions they make in their professions, work teams, organizations and communities. This is the kind of trusted leadership that the world so desperately needs.
