When you are invited to compete at Scholarship Competition, you will need to submit the following materials via mail no later than January 25th to:

Professor Mark Terry
George Fox University
414 North Meridian Street #6013
Newberg, Oregon, 97132

Part I – Items to Submit Prior to Scholarship Competition

Part II – Presentation and Interview

Scholarship applicants will prepare a 3-5 minute presentation in their area of academic interest. This is an opportunity to show past projects as well as the type of work you hope to produce during your time at George Fox. Please include at least one example of work you helped create that demonstrates abilities in your area of interest. You will present before the members of the Art and Design faculty during the on-campus interview. Students may use whatever notes and visual aides necessary to give their best presentation. Appointment time is limited so please make sure your presentation honors the time limits established.

Each scholarship applicant will be asked to engage in a creative problem solving case study. A hypothetical case study will be presented and the applicant will resolve the issues presented through design solutions as well as share/expound on elements of your earlier submitted essay. We will not expect you to be an expert. The focus will be on critical thinking and decision-making skills of the scholarship applicant. We want to know how you approach the problem, what type of questions you ask, and demeanor in the process.

If you have questions regarding this scholarship, please contact Mark Terry at mterry@georgefox.edu.
