International Studies is an interdisciplinary major designed to help students prepare for careers living and working overseas. Students with international and cross-cultural interests are encouraged to apply.

The International Studies curriculum draws upon many fields (political science, economics, religion, cultural anthropology, foreign language studies and study abroad); however, you are not required to have completed previous course work in these fields in order to compete for this scholarship. The competition will consist of writing two essays and completing an interview.

Essay #1 will deal with your general familiarity with international issues, Essay #2 will require an autobiographical sketch focusing on the nature and sources of your interests in international work, and the interview will offer the opportunity to share with faculty your own sense of what you see the field of International Studies offering to you.
