The Nursing Department at George Fox University welcomes you to participate in the Academic Scholarship Competition.

The following are the expectations of competition.

Please bring with you to the competition in a folder:
A one-page resume - that includes:

• Your educational background - including your GPA and the grades that you have received in all science, math, and social science courses.
• Your leadership, volunteer, and extracurricular activities.
• Your work or volunteer experiences.
• Any additional skills, club memberships, or anything that you feel is important.
• Attach a recent photograph.

 One letter of reference from someone who knows you and of your interest in nursing.
A 200 - 250 word essay as to why you want to pursue nursing as a profession.

On the day of the Academic Competition you will be expected to do the following:

•   Write a brief essay related to how nurses can and should play a fundamental role in health care during times of change. You will have 30 minutes to write your essay.
• Participate in a group interview with nursing faculty and nursing students.
