The Spanish scholarship competition consists of three parts.

• A placement exam, 25-45 minutes
• A very brief oral interview –10 minutes
• An essay in Spanish that includes an introduction to the student, a description of experiences with and observations of other languages; discusses future hopes, dreams and plans; and completion of a structured writing task, such as a dialogue. 45 minutes.
