Transfer Credits

After you’re admitted to the university, the registrar’s office will officially evaluate your transcripts. If you would like an unofficial transcript evaluation from the admissions office, please contact the transfer admissions counselor.

No. However, to be considered a transfer student, you need to have attempted at least 30 quarter or 20 semester credits of transferable coursework (100 level or higher) since graduating high school. If you have less than this amount of credits by the time you begin classes at George Fox, you’ll be considered a first-year student.

Application Process

Even if all your coursework appears on your current transcript, we need a copy of your transcript directly from every institution you’ve attended.

You don’t need a copy of your final transcripts to apply. We can evaluate your application using information from courses you’ve already completed. However, if you decide to enroll at George Fox, we will eventually need a copy of your final transcript so we can five you credit for the courses you’ve completed.

You are more than welcome to apply to the University after March 1. However, keep in mind that applications received after March 1 will be considered on a space-available basis.

Up to two weeks from the date of your last application piece being processed. We will call you personally and let you know what decision has been made on your application.

Class Registration

After you pay your enrollment deposit, you will be contacted via phone or email about class registration. For the fall semester, class registration takes place at on an on campus event called Transfer Genesis. Students unable to attend this event register by phone or in person after Transfer Genesis. For the spring semester, class registration will not begin until November at the earliest.

As an incoming student, you will automatically be paired with an advisor who teaches in your major or with an enrollment counselor in the registrar’s office who specializes in your major. Academic advisors are not assigned until you are cleared to register for classes.

Student Life and Campus Housing

All full-time students who are not 22 by the first day of the semester are required to go to complete 20 chapel credits each semester. There are about 60 chapel offerings over the course of the semester from bi-weekly chapel services to small group Bible studies and service trips. Click here for more information on chapel.

If you are 21 or older by the first day of the semester, a senior by class standing, married, or commuting from your parents’ home, you are not required to live on campus.

We will place you in housing based on the amount of credits you’ve completed at time of transfer. In most cases, transfer students live in on campus apartments that accommodate two to six people or in on campus houses that accommodate 6-13 people.
