The Crescent is a student-operated 8-page newspaper that is a service of the Associated Student Community of George Fox University to its Newberg campus. It is delivered bi-weekly to 1800 students, staff, and faculty.

When the Crescent was first published in 1891, it was a 5-column paper. However, since then, The Crescent has moved to a much freer style with a varying width of columns, making the previous pricing standard of column inches confusing and difficult. In light of this, The Crescent has decided to price ads based on total area in square inches rather than column inches.

Why this is better for you

Pricing based on square inches allows you to know exactly how big your ad will be. Instead of offering just a few different sizes of ads, The Crescent can work with you to find an ad size fits your desire and budget perfectly.

How to price your ad

  1. Measure your ad's width and height
  2. Multiply your result from step 1 by the applicable rate: $3 for local ads (Newberg, Sherwood, McMinnville, and Dundee) or $3.50 for all others
  3. Subtract any applicable discounts (see below)

Note: These listed rates are for black and white ads. Single and multi-color ads are also available at an additional charge. Call (503) 554-3017 for more information.

Discounts

  • 5% off total cost to run ads in four or more issues
  • 8% off total cost to run ads in all five fall semester issues
  • 10% off total cost to run ads in all seven spring semester issues
  • 10% off total cost for non-profit organizations
