Be Known at Oregon's Christian University

Center for Teaching and Learning

The purpose of the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) is to promote good teaching with the end goal of enhancing student learning. Faculty at George Fox University are already engaged in reflection and discussion of teaching; the goal of the CTL is to expand campus dialogue on effective teaching, facilitate purposeful technology use, and provide resources to support faculty in their teaching.

Below are some activities and resources that are planned for the coming year.
  • A series of lunch forums has been scheduled as one means of providing time and space for dialogue about teaching issues and technology use.
  • The CTL blog will be updated with links to relevant resources from other centers for teaching and learning, as well as information specific to George Fox (e.g., campus resources, faculty lunch forum schedule).
  • Teaching consultations are available for full and part-time faculty. New and veteran faculty can benefit from discussion of curriculum design, classroom presentation, and assessment methods. Contact Gloria Doherty (ext. 6128) to arrange a consultation.
